Jerry Z is a Hammond B-3 organist known for soulful grooves, fiery solos and his unique, innovative approach to jazz/blues/funk. Emerging onto the New York City music scene in the 90’s, Jerry quickly became a sought after collaborator and performer, contributing his explosive Hammond B-3 sound to some of New York’s most influential and groundbreaking bands.
He has recorded and performed extensively with guitar wizard Oz Noy, legendary drummer Mike Clark, soul jazz pioneer Melvin Sparks, blues great Delbert McClinton, and The Headhunters. His performances with Hiram Bullock, Mark Whitfield, Donald Harrison, Bernard Purdy, and many others showcase his expansive range and innovative drive on the instrument.
Jerry Z has also toured globally with his own trio, bringing the live Hammond B-3 trio sound to new audiences. His album of originals (late 2024 release) will feature long-time collaborators and artists including Oz Noy, Mike Clark, Lenny White, and Chad LB.
